Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School

Tardy Policy

Regular attendance and promptness are expected in all classes and are essential for success in school. Promptness is an essential school and work-related behavior that must be learned and practiced for it to become a habit.

Students are tardy to school when they arrive to class after 7:25 AM. Students are tardy to class when they arrive unprepared for class after the bell sounds indicating the beginning of the period or block. Arriving prepared for class implies that a student has all the necessary materials to participate in the class. Materials may include a textbook, paper, pencil, pen, ruler, calculator, etc. Appropriate attire and a current student identification badge are considered required materials.

All students are to report to Room 2195 when they arrive late to class after 7:30 AM. Students are assigned after school detentions, Saturday school, as well as other administrative remedies for being late to school or class.

Parental Assistance

Parents may assist school staff by ensuring their children report to school and class promptly. Students should be on campus no later than 7:15 AM so they can be on-time to their first block class. Parents may monitor their children's attendance and grades by using the Parent Portal that is available at www.dadeschools.net. Parents who need a PIN code or assistance with the portal are welcome to visit the registrar's office during normal business hours.
