Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School

Physical Education Department

Physical education provides students the opportunity to attain their optimal level of fitness while participating in a continuous, carefully planned program of physical activities. These physical activities are essential for developing physical, mental, emotional, and social skills for every student. Through participation, students develop interests and skills that promote and encourage lifetime fitness for daily living.

The main emphasis of senior high school physical education is to provide a program that allows all students to not only understand fitness concepts, but also to apply these concepts to achieve their own optimal level of fitness. A second program goal is the student's exposure to a variety of sport activities that will be used later in life as a way of maintaining and active and fit lifestyle.
