Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School

Special Education Program

In Florida, children who have special learning needs are called exceptional students. The special help they are given at school is called exceptional student education (ESE). The purpose of ESE is to help each child with a specific learning need to progress in school and prepare for life after school. Exceptional student education services may include special teaching methods and materials. They may also include technology devices, therapy, special transportation, or other supports. Decisions about a child's ESE placement and services are made by a team of educators and professionals in cooperation with the child's parents.

Our school has a variety of programs and services that assist students with specific learning needs. Please contact the department chairperson if you have questions regarding your child's special educational needs or if you would like to review your child's current educational services.
